Job description

Cheltenham Town FC Academy is welcoming applications for an Academy Lead Goalkeeping Coach who will oversee the planning and implementation of our goalkeeping development strategy.

We seek an individual capable of developing future first-team players, managing the goalkeeping program (U9-U18), and communicating effectively with key stakeholders.

The Coach will report to the Academy Head of Coaching and be responsible for planning, delivering, and reflecting on all sessions. They will lead MDT reviews, player reviews, and provide feedback according to the Academy's procedures for goalkeepers from U9 to U18.

This role suits someone with experience in Academy football coaching who is looking to gain full-time experience. Candidates should hold a UEFA B goalkeeping qualification (working towards UEFA B considered) and have emergency first aid in football (desirable).

The position is full-time (35 hours/week) and requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Compensation is aligned with the national living wage.

• External: Premier League & Football League Clubs, FA, Universities/Colleges, FAYCD, PFA

Salary: Full-time, 35 hours, in line with the national living wage

Overall Purpose

Enhance the football and holistic development of goalkeepers (U9-U18). Manage technical and tactical development in conjunction with coaching staff, and plan and implement individual learning plans aligned with club philosophy.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

• Personal Development: Engage in continuous learning, complete club CPD and FA qualifications
• Coaching Curriculum & Philosophy: Deliver coaching curriculum aligned with club philosophy, design age-appropriate programs, lead session delivery
• Games Programme: Support game design, maximize playing opportunities, monitor player progress and loan opportunities
• Individual Learning Plans: Design and deliver ILPs using a holistic approach, manage transitions
• Feedback: Provide feedback to staff, players, and parents according to protocols
