Job summary

The University is seeking Academic Tutors in Robotics Engineering or Electrical/Electronic for the School of Engineering and Built Environment. You will deliver labs, support colleagues in teaching, and lead outreach and recruitment events while supervising placements and engaging with industry partners to enhance the delivery of our Electrical, Electronic and Mechatronics programs.

Academic Tutors in Robotics Engineering or Electrical/Electronic
College of Business, Tech. & Engineering

The School of Engineering and Built Environmentis based in the College of Business, Technology and Engineering and encompasses a range of subject areas including Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Mechatronics.

We are recruitingfor2xAcademicTutorstojoin our existing team and welcome applications from candidates with practical experience in:

As part of your role you will be delivering labs, supporting other academic colleagues in their teaching andleading onoutreach and recruitment events. You will also besupporting students on their employability journey bysupervising placements and engaging with our industry partners to enhance our academic delivery offer. These are brand new rolestoour team and therefore you can really make an impact on how the role is delivered. We are looking for people with a passion for Engineering to engage our students and provide excellent student experiences. You will be supported by the wider academic team in your role.

Applicants should have an awareness of the current trends, issues, and developments in electrical/electronicengineering bothnationally andinternationally, andwill be expected to demonstrate an applied understanding of current industry developments during the selection process.

You do not need previous experience of teaching, as this is a great opportunity for an applicant with practical industryexperience orif you are a professional already teaching in an FEenvironment witha desire to inspire the next generationof Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic Engineers.

We work closely with colleagues in the Power Electrical & Control Engineering Subject group on the delivery of the CEng accredited BEng/MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the BEng Electrical Engineering (top-up), and the BEng Mechatronics.

The subject group also leads the MSc Electrical & Electronic Engineering course and teaches extensively across the MSc Engineering portfolio as well as the Degree Apprenticeship Programs. We also make a significant contribution to other engineering BEng and MSc programmes in the department and the delivery of degreeapprenticeship courses across the University.
