Key Responsibilitiesof anAcademic Support Assistant:

• Provide tailored academic support to students across a range of subjects.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to reinforce classroom learning.
• Help identify learning barriers and implement effective support strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to adapt learning materials and monitor student progress.
• Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence in learning.
• Support the classroom environment and assist in maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.

Academic Support Assistant Skills & Requirements:

• Previous experience in a school or academic support role is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, patient, and flexible approach to working with young people.
• A genuine interest in education and student development.
• Havean up-to-date CV(covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) andan enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service(or be willing to apply for one)
