Job summary

Capel Manor College is seeking an Academic Success Tutor to help learners thrive by developing literacy and numeracy skills, supporting with assignments, and delivering engaging lessons that stretch and challenge students on their course and career pathway.

You will monitor progress, provide bespoke support for those needing extra help, and give timely feedback, modelling the positive behaviours expected of all learners. The role includes full training and an induction programme.

Qualifications

• Qualified teachers preferred
• Experience supporting literacy and numeracy
• Ability to deliver bespoke student support

About The Role and Person

We are looking for a passionate and committed individual to join our team to teach and support students and ensure their academic success. You will be developing their literacy and numeracy skills, supporting with assignments, providing bespoke support to students who need that support in order to allow them to develop their academic skills and succeed on their course and career pathway. This will involve preparing and delivering stimulating lessons, setting goals that stretch and challenge all students, monitoring and assessing student progress, giving feedback and consistently demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviours which are expected of students. Teaching is a hugely rewarding career. It gives students a voice and can show them that words are powerful things; the things that can help them to succeed in life.

We are looking for qualified teachers who can offer structured individualised and group support. If you think that you can develop intellectual curiosity and create a love of learning, we would like to hear from you.

Full training and support will be provided . This includes a comprehensive induction programme, ongoing support from an experienced Lecturer .

The actual salary for this role is £14,775 - £16,354 for Unqualified Lecturers and £17,255 - £22,767 for Qualified Lecturers, inclusive of London Weighting.
