About The Role

Driving Academic Excellence

As an Academic Senior Teaching and Learning Innovator you will work with the Group Head of Education Improvement and play an active part in delivering the EKC Group quality improvement plan and group priorities. This will be achieved by leveraging up-to-date pedagogical knowledge and a proven track record of delivering academic excellence to support improvement in teaching, learning, and assessment across the EKC Group in line with the Outstanding Programme Standards.

As a Senior Innovator you will lead and deliver research projects both internally and externally, bringing innovation into the EKC Group and positioning us as pioneers in further education research. By being at the forefront of pedagogical and educational innovation, and with a deep understanding of academic excellence, you will design and deliver a comprehensive programme of CPD, lead communities of practice, and develop resources that will drive the Quality of Education to Outstanding.

About You

We are looking for someone with sound pedagogical knowledge, the ability to deliver high-quality CPD, and strong academic research skills to lead on internal and external FE research which in turn can steer the EKC Group Education Improvement work.

It would be beneficial to the work of the Education Improvement team if you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • A core understanding of Inclusion;
  • An understanding of Teaching and Supporting learners with SEND;
  • An understanding of strategies for driving improvement in Maths and English delivery (mock exams, question level analysis etc.);
  • Understanding of the EKC Group\'s broad provision (T Levels, A Levels, Apprenticeships etc.);
  • Experience in applying academic excellence to drive education outcomes.

You will be expected to regularly upskill and develop in the above areas (as well as other relevant areas of education).

You will need to be able to confidently undertake academic educational research, write reports and papers, use performance data and CPIs to drive research ideas as well as plan and deliver outstanding face to face and virtual CPD and training.

You will be a qualified teacher with at least 2 years successful teaching experience with evidence of good outcomes for learners.
