Job description

Opportunity:

Are you passionate about quality assurance and experienced in the UK HE sector? Do you have the skills and motivation to drive continuous improvements and deliver meaningful impact? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking an engaging and confident individual to contribute to the strategic development of the University’s Quality Management Office (QMO) and to plan, guide, and manage its day-to-day activities, providing excellent service to stakeholders.

You will possess excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders at different levels across the University, meeting their requirements and ensuring optimal outcomes.

You will play a key role in contributing to institutional projects aligned with the University Strategy 2025-2030.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of professional staff to ensure activities within the scope of the Quality Management Office meet the highest standards.
  • Overseeing and coordinating effective operational strategies to manage and embed quality and enhancement activities across all programmes, drawing on best practices from the HE sector and regulatory bodies.
  • Providing expert advice on new and existing programme developments, ensuring alignment and compliance with regulations and quality assurance policies, and taking action when requirements are not met.
  • Having oversight of domestic and international collaborative partners and programmes, applying the same quality management approaches as those for on-campus provision.
  • Auditing academic processes to assess effectiveness and build confidence in specific areas.

The role also requires effective workload management, organization, accuracy, and efficiency under pressure, along with strong skills in report writing, presentations, and data analysis. Colleagues and students will see you as reliable, supportive, and fair.

A bit about the Quality Management Office (QMO):

We are a friendly and welcoming team responsible for ensuring robust and effective quality assurance policies and procedures to monitor academic standards. We work closely with academic and professional services colleagues to deliver quality assurance activities for all provisions, including collaborative partnerships, apprenticeships, student casework, and academic governance.

What’s in it for you?

A competitive salary, excellent pension scheme, generous annual leave, flexible and hybrid working (subject to business needs), and comprehensive training and professional development opportunities to help you reach your potential! We value diversity and believe our varied backgrounds and experiences strengthen us. We share a passion for improving students’ lives.
