Location: Barnet
Contract type: Permanent
Start date: ASAP
Hours: 8.30am - 4pm approximately
Salary: 19,890 - 22,425

Do you have tutoring experience and would like to transition into a school environment before considering your future career option?

Aspire People are working with an outstanding rated secondary school in Barnet who are seeking an excellent Academic Mentor to start with them ASAP.

The role is until the end of the academic year with the potential to continue in September based on performance.

Academic Mentor - the school:
A well-established and dynamic 11-16 school in Barnet
Committed to providing high-quality education and pastoral care
Dedicated and diverse staff who enjoy working collaboratively
Focused on empowering students to achieve their best academically, socially, and emotionally
Offers a range of extra-curricular opportunities
Supportive environment where both students and staff thrive

Academic Mentor - key responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group academic support to students, particularly those who may need extra help in their studies
Assist KS3 students with exam preparation, homework, and coursework
Help students develop effective study strategies and improve their organisation skills
Build strong relationships with students to offer guidance and encouragement
Work closely with teachers to monitor and track students' progress
Support students in developing their confidence and motivation to succeed

Academic Mentor - requirements:
2:1 or above in a core subject from a top UK university
Previous tutoring experience is desirable
Excellent communication skills
Reliability, motivation and enthusiasm for learning
Receptive to feedback and coaching
Willingness to obtain a DBS
