Job summary

EdEx - Education Recruitment is seeking Academic Mentors for a large Secondary School in Newham, East London, from September 2026. The role focuses on supporting KS3 and KS4 students across subject areas, delivering GCSE interventions and building academic confidence.

You will act as a role model to high-achieving students, supporting study skills and future university aspirations, with salaried teacher training opportunities from September 2027.

Qualifications

• Graduate with strong academic record and understanding of top universities (Russell Group/Oxbridge)
• Experience supporting students in KS3/KS4 and GCSE intervention
• Willingness to train as a teacher (Salaried Teacher Training) from Sept 2027

Responsibilities

• Support students in your subject area and across KS3/KS4
• Deliver targeted GCSE intervention sessions
• Work in class, in small groups and 1:1 to raise attainment and confidence
• Act as a positive academic role model encouraging study skills and aspirations
