Philip Morant School and College in Colchester is seeking an Academic Mentor to support students who need additional help, including those with English as an Additional Language. This graduate role offers hands-on experience in a secondary school setting and a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027.
You will supervise a discreet provision, coordinate day-to-day educational support, and assist students across the curriculum, applying initiative and working without direct supervision.
Our Academic Mentors work with our students who need additional support. This includes our academic support room, support in lessons and one-to-one interventions. We are ideally looking for someone who would be interested in supporting our students who have English as an Additional Language and be responsible for their interventions. This post would be suitable for a graduate who is considering teaching as a career and would like to gain some experience and explore working with students in a secondary school setting in advance of that decision being made.
