Job description

Our client's Higher Education division delivers innovative content and digital courseware, supporting university teaching and learning across a wide range of subjects. They work closely with institutions to provide high-quality products and services that meet the evolving needs of educators and students.

They are seeking an experienced Sales Representative to join their UK & Ireland Sales Team, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager. Covering the Midlands and North West of England, this field-based role involves building relationships with university departments, identifying opportunities, and promoting digital and print learning solutions. The successful candidate will engage with lecturers, Module Leaders, Course Directors, and Heads of Departments to understand their teaching needs, deliver tailored product demonstrations, and drive adoption of learning resources. Responsibilities include managing the sales pipeline, analysing market data, negotiating and closing sales, and ensuring timely product delivery.

Key responsibilities
  • Execute the account strategy to maximise sales of digital and print products in Higher Education institutions.
  • Identify and prioritise target modules within key accounts.
  • Engage with Module Leaders, Course Directors, and Heads of Departments to promote suitable learning solutions.
  • Support institutions in transitioning from print to digital services.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of digital products to modules. Increase product adoption within modules, maximising digital engagement and minimising print returns.
  • Drive year-on-year growth of key accounts.
  • Analyse pipeline data and sales intelligence to prioritise account activities.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate sales proposals at the module level.
  • Lead effective negotiations to secure and close sales.
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations aligned with teaching and learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts, calls, and opportunities in CRM.
  • Utilise CRM data for sales planning, territory prioritisation, market analysis, and forecasting.
  • Provide regular sales reports as required by the Regional Sales Manager and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to establish long-term product adoption in target accounts and support institution-wide sales.
Skills and experience required
  • Degree-level education (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in achieving sales targets and delivering results in a competitive environment.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing needs.
  • Experience in sales, presenting, and influencing decision-makers.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and work with both digital and print media.
  • Confident in delivering presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Able to manage workload effectively during high-demand periods.
