️ Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer – Cambridge & East Anglia ️
Base: Cambridge (covering East Anglia – offices, labs, pharma, leisure centres)
Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Van + Fuel Card + Overtime + Benefits

The Opportunity: We’re seeking an experienced Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join a professional and growing maintenance team, covering a diverse portfolio of sites across Cambridge and the East Anglia region. You’ll work across offices, laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities, and leisure centres, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on HVAC and general building systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out routine PPM and reactive maintenance on all HVAC and associated mechanical/electrical plant

- Diagnose and repair faults to ensure continuous operation of systems

- Maintain accurate logbooks, F-Gas records, and compliance documentation

- Complete tasks across mechanical, electrical, and fabric systems as needed (e.g., concessionary stores, minor fabric repairs)

- Ensure plant rooms are secure, clean, and well-maintained

- Supervise and coordinate sub-contractors, ensuring safe systems of work are followed

- Support safe working practices, including preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements

- Operate within a Permit to Work system and ensure full H&S compliance on all jobs

- Monitor spare part stock levels and provide material requirements for remedial works

- Keep digital maintenance systems (e.g., CAFM) up to date and ensure PPM/reactive tasks are closed with full records

- Promote a strong safety-first culture, including dynamic risk assessments, reporting near-misses, and supporting continuous improvement

Requirements:

- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or equivalent)

- F-Gas (Category 1) qualified

- Strong experience across HVAC systems (split, VRV/VRF, AHUs, FCUs, etc.)

- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and fabric systems

- Excellent fault-finding and communication skills

- Full UK driving licence (essential)

- Comfortable working independently across multiple sites
