Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking an Abstraction Strategy and Regulation Manager to lead abstraction strategy, regulatory risk management and public interest case development. You will coordinate across AMP programmes and regulators to shape long‑term sustainable abstraction and ensure regulatory commitments are delivered on time.

You will work with regulators, environmental bodies and internal experts to protect water supplies, monitor risks, and integrate abstraction requirements into WRMP29,

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental/regulation/science or related discipline.
• Experience leading complex project or programme management activities.
• Experience working with regulators in environmental or water sectors.
• Proven ability to develop and present robust regulatory cases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret risks and data.
• Ability to lead, influence and inspire across multidisciplinary teams.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
• Chartered status desirable; water sector experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead abstraction strategy, regulatory risk management and public interest case development.
• Manage abstraction licence change risks across AMP programmes with regulators and internal teams.
• Coordinate across WRMP29, PR29, AWINEP and Environmental Destination Strategy.
• Identify risks early, implement robust mitigations, and ensure regulatory commitments are met on time.
• Provide strategic insight on regulatory trends, risks and opportunities.
• Support consultants to deliver technical, regulatory and evidence-based cases.
