A national statistical agency is seeking Field Interviewers for various locations in Western Australia and Northern Territory. You will be responsible for conducting surveys at household addresses and building rapport with respondents. Successful candidates will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a reliable vehicle. This position offers flexible working hours and full training in ABS software. ABS Field Interviewer – Western Australia/Northern Territory

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill the positions of Field Interviewers - Western Australia/Northern Territory. We are looking for people to approach household addresses who have been selected to complete an ABS survey. Interviews might be conducted face to face in a respondent's home, or over the phone from your home office.

Locations: Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Geraldton, Port Hedland, Broome, York, Rockingham, Canning Vale, Bayswater/Bassendean, Alice Springs

About the role

Interviewers are the public face of the ABS and have an important role in building strong relationships with the public.

All household interviews are conducted using a notebook computer. You will need to be competent with computers. Full training in the use of ABS software and systems is provided.

Interviewers must maintain the strictest confidentiality and security in respect of all information collected and survey materials used. An Interviewer is engaged as an employee of the ABS under s16(2) of the Australian Bureau of Statistics Act 1975 in accordance with Regulation 7 of the Statistics Regulations 2016 and is legally bound to protect the privacy of the information collected.
