Job summary

Apollo Engineering Consultants Limited in Aberdeen is seeking a Project Manager for a contract/temporary assignment within the project management department. The role reports to the Head of Projects and requires oversight of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver scope, schedule and budget.

You will coordinate with Division Directors, provide weekly forecasts, manage risks and ensure governance, quality and client satisfaction across studies and projects, with a focus on realising business benefits

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.
• Proven experience in project management in an engineering consultancy or energy-sector environment.
• Strong knowledge of project lifecycles and Scheduling/Estimating frameworks.
• Ability to lead multi-discipline teams and manage vendor/client interfaces.
• Experience with project controls, engineering functions, and procurement processes.
• Proven skills in risk management, stakeholder engagement, and benefits delivery.

Responsibilities

• Consult and inform Division Directors regarding project performance.
• Serve as the focal point between Division Directors and the delivery organisation.
• Define project or proposal requirements with Division Directors.
• Accountable for project delivery performance against scope (time, cost, quality, benefits).
• Provide regular project performance reporting and weekly forecasts.
• Appoint and manage the project controls team with the Project Controls Lead.
• Request and secure engineering/design resources with Engineering Leads.
• Appoint and oversee a Study Manager for early-phase projects.
• Determine the need for a Project Engineer to support delivery.
• Manage stakeholder relationships including clients, partners and internal functions.
• Support Divisions with business development, client presentations and pursuit activities.
• Ensure risks, changes and issues are managed and escalated as needed.
• Ensure compliance with governance, legal and contractual obligations.
• Undertake additional responsibilities to reflect evolving business needs.
• Prepare and maintain project execution plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Complete weekly forecasts and project performance reports for senior management.
• Provide regular reporting on schedule, cost, resources, risks and benefits realization.
• Oversee progress reporting, performance tracking and communication to Directors.
• Support Study Managers leading early-phase projects and ensure governance is maintained.
• Coordinate with Project Controls Lead and Engineering Leads for timely resourcing.
• Chair key project meetings and ensure governance and reporting.
• Manage project risk registers, change logs and lessons learned.
• Assign or collaborate with a Project Engineer for detailed follow-up.
