Abbey Court is a small independent care home for the elderly. The home has completed a refurbishment and an extension to provide a further 6 ensuite bedrooms (now registered for 24 guests), and provides residential, respite, and day care services.
We provide care services by our highly trained staff and dedicated carers delivered in a modern well-appointed home environment facilitating the very highest standards of care for our guests. We are keen to hear from candidates who share our commitment to quality and professionalism.
The Activities Coordinator will be employed to expand our service with day care residents. The Activities Coordinator should be an energetic person who can identify, respect, and tailor make activities to suit the individual needs of our guests, whether working in groups or on a one-to-one basis. The applicant should also be IT literate, budget and social media aware and may come from a diverse range of backgrounds.
The applicant must be an enthusiastic communicator, who is naturally empathetic and enjoys working with guests to make a real difference to their lives, by supporting them to remain as independent as possible whilst stimulating their physical and mental wellbeing.
The applicant will be responsible for liaising with other members of staff and the management team, family members, and friends of our guests, in the planning of activities. The applicant will encourage residents to continue with pre-existing hobbies and interests whilst assessing individual needs continuously, besides encouraging our guests to participate in collective activities. The applicant will each day work on a one-to-one basis with those who do not wish to participate and carry out resident reviews as necessary.
