Job summary

ABP UK is seeking an Abattoir Operative to support key production activities, ensuring lambs are handled and processed with due regard to welfare and ABP procedures. The role may involve slaughter and dressing carcasses to customer specifications, within a busy production environment.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, able to work both independently and in a team, and committed to food safety, health and safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Dressing and trimming carcasses in line with ABP and customer specifications.
• Working efficiently to meet daily production deadlines and targets.
• Trimming carcasses to maximise production yield while complying with legislation and company requirements.
• Demonstrating consistently high standards of animal welfare.
• Following SOPs and all company processes.
• Reporting faults to your Supervisor promptly.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and quality.
• Carrying out work safely and in accordance with health & safety legislation and company procedures.
• Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to maintain a safe, efficient environment.
