Job summary

Thrive Shepton on behalf of a client in Yetminster is actively recruiting for an Abattoir Operative to join the team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. You will work Monday to Friday, with 2 x 30-minute breaks and full training provided.

Responsibilities include dressing and trimming carcasses to ABP and customer specifications, meeting production deadlines, maintaining equipment, and upholding high animal welfare standards while following SOPs and Health & Safety rules.

Qualifications

• Ability to work under own initiative.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• High level of attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.
• Ability to follow instructions related to Health & Safety and PPE.
• Good physical fitness for a role involving substantial physical activity.
• Can-do attitude with good communication skills.
• Basic understanding of verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure carcasses are dressed and trimmed according to ABP and customer specifications as directed by the Production Supervisor.
• Meet production deadlines and work to best of ability.
• Trim all parts of the carcass to achieve optimum production yield while adhering to legislation and company requirements.
• Maintain equipment and machinery and report faults to Supervisor promptly.
• Demonstrate high levels of animal welfare at all times.
• Work in accordance with SOPs and Health & Safety legislation.
• Full training will be provided.

Thrive Shepton are delighted to be working with our client in Yetminster, who are actively recruiting for Abattoir Operative on a temporary to permanent basis to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure carcasses are dressed and trimmed according to ABP and customer specifications, as directed by the Production Supervisor
• Ensure work is carried out to the best of the operative's ability to meet production deadlines
• Ensure all parts of the carcass are trimmed to achieve optimum production yield while adhering to legislation and company requirements
• Maintain responsibility for the operational effectiveness of equipment and machinery and report any faults to the Supervisor in a timely manner
• Demonstrate high levels of animal welfare at all times
• Work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Carry out all procedures in a safe manner in accordance with Health & Safety legislation
• Full training will be provided

Working Hours:

What you will receive in return:

• £13.50 per hour
