An apprenticeship program in accountancy seeks candidates for the Assistant Accountant position. The role involves supporting daily accounting tasks, raising invoices, and resolving queries. Candidates must have English and Maths GCSE Grade 5+, and Level 2 AAT or A' Level Accounting is preferred. The apprenticeship lasts 18 months and offers prospects for further development in accountancy.
Working within a small Head Office Accounts Receivable team of five, the successful candidate will support all aspects of the team.
Advanced Diploma - AAT Level 3
This level builds on the knowledge gained in the Foundation level. If you work in accounts or have studied accountancy before, you may be able to start at this level. You’ll learn complex accounting techniques and master disciplines including financial processes, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts, and ethical practices for accountants.
This level encourages mastery of complex accounting principles in Bookkeeping and Management Accounting, developing the technical skills to start or progress your career in accountancy. It also prepares you for further studies at Level 4.
To pass this level, you’ll need to study five mandatory units, with four examined individually and a synoptic assessment towards the end that covers all units studied at this level. The areas covered include:
The standard details the essential Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours for a successful Assistant Accountant, including Business Awareness, Ethics, Communication, Embracing Change, and Problem Solving. Apprentices must demonstrate competence in all areas during the End Point Assessment.
