Job summary

SI Recruitment client, a leading independent Chartered Accountants firm, seeks an AAT Accounts Assistant to join its busy small business accounts and VAT team. The role centers on bookkeeping and VAT work for a diverse client portfolio, with accounts and tax return preparation for sole traders, partnerships and small companies.

The ideal candidate will have an AAT qualification or relevant experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Excel and either Sage, QuickBooks or Xero.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or proven experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication skills and client liaison abilities.
• Experience gained in an accountancy practice is preferred.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounts preparation capabilities.
• Experience preparing Tax Returns (Self Assessment and Company).
• Good IT skills including Excel and Word; knowledge of Sage/QuickBooks/Xero.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping for varied clients and VAT work.
• VAT Returns preparation and submission.
• Accounts preparation for clients.
• Personal and Corporation tax computations.
• Tax Returns - Self Assessment & Company.
