Training

Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3 - AAT

This Level 3 programme builds on foundational skills to support growth within an accountancy and finance function. Employees on this apprenticeship will help ensure an accountancy practice operates effectively. It includes the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and offers opportunities to develop essential skills and behaviours to drive results.

You will learn how to prepare financial statements for sole traders and partnerships, understand management accounting information, and prepare VAT returns. This training will help you start or advance your career in accountancy and allows for progression to Level 4.

To pass this level, you will need to study the following four units:

  • Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements (FAPS)
  • Management Accounting Techniques (MATS)
  • Tax Processes for Business (TPFB)
  • Business Awareness (BUAW)

You will also complete an End Point Assessment (EPA), which includes a synoptic assessment and a discussion supported by a portfolio.

Training will be provided through face-to-face classroom lessons or live online sessions. An apprenticeship must be relevant to your job and requires dedicated time for off-the-job training, including the development of knowledge, skills, and behaviours related to your apprenticeship.
