This role is based within the Electrical Engineering department, Assisted & Automated Driving (AAD) System Integration and Test Group, AAD Virtual Environment Development Chapter.

The team is responsible for the design, delivery, and maintenance of various XIL Test Environments with different levels of complexity, from one ECU in the loop to 30 ECUs in the loop, using either signal-based testing or scenario-based testing.

WHAT TO EXPECT


The successful candidate will be delivering state-of-the-art real-time XIL solutions, hardware, and software, to support the testing of all agreed AAD features in a laboratory environment, whilst adhering to the latest industry standards for test and simulation such as ASAM OpenX, and ISO26262.

• The role is to develop XIL (MIL, SIL, HIL) test environments for AAD feature testing.
• Successful integration of agreed AAD features on XIL Test Environment
• Collect requirements, design, implement and deliver complex real time simulation models to run on virtual machine and HIL hardware.
• Develop simulation strategy based on architecture defined by XIL solution architect to achieve the AAD virtual validation objectives.
• Work closely with the Test Platform team, to ensure all proposed solutions are scalable and in line with the wider business guidelines for modelling and XIL test platforms.
• Provide 2nd & 3rd level of support for XIL test environment issues raised by a Test Environment engineer.
• Ensure virtual tools and HIL rig coverage for future model changes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

In order to be effective in the role, please see the below relevant experience and skills that are required:



• XIL test environment (MIL, SIL, HIL, VIL) development experience in Automotive or Aerospace domain with HiL simulation development ideally utilising dSPACE and NI toolsets.
• Excellent first-principles understanding of control system design, engineering principles and the software development lifecycle.
• Strong toolchain (Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow) for real time applications.
• Experience with AUTOSAR compliant framework in model-based environment and strong experience in control algorithm development using MathWorks.
• Knowledge of automotive diagnostics protocol UDS and related tools (CANalyzer/CANoe, CANape, diagnostics tools etc.)
• Experience in Vehicle dynamic model development and integration with virtual environment IPG carmaker, dSPACE ASM, nVIDIA Drivesim.
• Experience of Sensor simulation and configuration for embedded and virtual environment and knowledge of vehicle network communications (CAN, Flexray, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
