Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited in Filton, Bristol, is offering an undergraduate internship for approximately 12.5 months, starting 16 August 2027. The role involves supporting the A350 Chief Engineer’s Team across Wing, Landing Gear, Fuel system and Fuel Tank Flammability Reduction initiatives.

You will join a highly experienced team, develop technical capability, leadership and communication skills, and may work across European sites as required. Applications close 27 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Studying towards an Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Excellent written and spoken English with ability to summarise complex issues.
• Understanding of project management and deadlines.
• Empathetic, relationship-builder, able to listen and reflect.
• Proactive with initiative and open scope.
• Prepared to travel between European sites if required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to aircraft technology definition and requirements with the Chief Engineering team.
• Attend team meetings and develop ideas for product evolution of the A350 family.
• Work on build and in-service issues with a problem-solving approach.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Safety & Procurement to deliver integrated solutions.
• Help improve team processes through internal projects.
• Develop confidence, leadership and communication skills during placement.
• Gain understanding of aircraft development and decision-making in aerospace projects.
