An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Trainee Dog Warden to join their compassionate team. This role involves driving around the Slough area to collect stray dogs and ensuring their welfare, including returning them to their owners or transporting them to shelters. The company is now seeking a new Trainee Dog Warden who lives around the SLOUGH area - 20 mile radius ideally.
You will be driving around the local area and as far as Milton Keynes, Greenwich, Bromley, London, and surrounding areas.
A full, clean driving licence obtained at least 3 years ago is essential for this role, and you will need to be over 22 years of age for insurance purposes.
The company operates on a shift basis and is open 365 days per annum, including Christmas Day.
The Dog Warden is covering their back shift, which means you will be covering 4 x 9.5 hour shifts a week.
Your days of work would be: Monday, Thursday, Friday, and then Saturday one week, then Sunday the next – alternating.
The hours are 9am till 7pm.
The successful candidate would also be asked to cover the night shift when cover is required, usually from 4pm to 4am.
Primarily, the role will entail the collection of stray dogs, which can involve bringing the dogs back to the Slough Kennels and reuniting them with their owners. However, other times it may involve dropping dogs at the Battersea Dog Home or giving them to Foster Dog families. This includes calling vets for particular treatment of wounded and sick dogs, and sometimes it may lead to the termination of the dog’s life if it is in a very bad way. All involve meticulous reporting and the completion of forms for local councils, etc., and is audited.
Full training is provided, but you will learn to manage very frightened dogs that may be aggressive and hard to control. You will also look after their welfare at the kennels, settling them in, feeding, and keeping the kennels clean and ready for new visitors at all times.

This is a temp to perm position. A commercial vehicle and uniform are provided, and the role is based from the offices in Slough. Basic pay is £12.60 per hour with a shift bonus allowance once training is completed; salary will then increase to £14.30 per hour.

This role is immediately available. Unfortunately, we cannot accept candidates who do not have a full UK manual driving licence with 3+ years driving experience or who have allergic reactions to bites and stings (although this is avoided).
