Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist at an exceptional care centre in Swindon, Wiltshire. This service is a purpose-built neurological centre for men and women over 18 with acquired brain injuries. Candidates must hold a Full GMC Registration.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Managing complex cases
• Formulating care plans and treatments, guiding evidence-based practices
• Collaborating with care coordinators, families, carers, and other agencies
• Implementing the Mental Health Act and liaising with the Ministry of Justice (if applicable)
• Working within multidisciplinary, multi-agency teams
• Handling administrative duties, including NHSE contractual obligations and discharge summaries within 24 hours
• Maintaining GMC registration and professional conduct
• Maintaining section 12(2) and approved clinician status

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience in psychiatry within multidisciplinary teams
• Good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
• Accreditation or nearing accreditation in Forensic Psychiatry with the GMC
• Recent appraisal/RITA within the last year
