Job Description:
An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Lead Occupational Therapist to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in Bromley, Kent. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.
The hospital provides care and treatment for patients with a wide range of mental health issues, both as inpatients and day patients.
To be considered for this position, you must have an Occupational Therapy degree/qualification and an HCPC license to practice.
As the Lead Occupational Therapist, your key responsibilities include:
- Ensure effective and efficient management of, and provide both clinical and managerial supervision to, the Occupational Therapy team.
- Participate in monthly Clinical Governance Committee meetings to report on Occupational Therapy activities, including progress updates, feedback, or development areas.
- Lead the implementation of new services and share best practices with other teams.
- Carry out OT assessments to identify patient needs and plan appropriate interventions, either individually or in groups.
- Manage and coordinate individual OT treatment plans, facilitate groups, and oversee unit programmes.
- Write regular OT reports and attend multidisciplinary meetings.
- Develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues, ensuring practice aligns with policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives, and carers.
The following skills and experience are preferred and beneficial:
- Previous experience in mental health, eating disorders, or autism is preferred.
- Newly qualified individuals with relevant experience may also be considered.
- Good communication skills and a flexible approach are essential.
The successful Lead Occupational Therapist will receive an excellent salary of £43,742 – £50,952 per annum DOE. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include:
