Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and committed candidate to apply for this Band 8a post within our Paediatric Liaison Team. The team works with young people with physical and mental health presentations, including unexplained medical symptoms and functional neurological disorders. The team includes nursing, OT, family therapy, senior psychology, and psychiatry colleagues, ensuring multidisciplinary oversight and coordination of care. The role involves joint working with Leicester Children's Hospital staff, including consultation, training, and supervision.
The Liaison Team is part of a larger Paediatric Psychology Team within a CAMHS provision serving Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
You will be based in the Department of Paediatric Psychology but will deliver services at Leicester Royal Infirmary and other community venues. This role offers an opportunity to provide specialist care to children and young people with complex health needs.
Our department emphasizes reflective practice, CPD, case discussions, peer supervision, and safeguarding supervision. We offer further training opportunities in EMDR, ACT for Physical Health, and Systemic practice, and opportunities to provide reflective practice to medical and allied health colleagues.

Main duties and responsibilities
This position sits within the specialist Paediatric Psychology Liaison multidisciplinary team, part of the wider Paediatric Psychology CAMHS Service, involving work with other medical specialties within the Children's Hospital.
The role involves psychological assessment and interventions for children, young people, and families with complex, long-term health needs, as well as consultation and liaison with staff at Leicester Royal Infirmary and other professionals. Additional duties include teaching, training, research, and quality improvement activities.
