Job description

We are looking for a 7.5T driver to join our team at Wincanton in Blackburn on the night shift, where we provide logistics services for our exciting aerospace customer.As a 7.5T driver you will be responsible for the collection and delivery of small to large high-value consignments that require special handling conditions.

Successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain security clearance prior to commencing employment which includes providing 5 consecutive years UK residency and employment/education history.

Day to Day

Collection and delivery of small to large high-value consignments that require special handling conditions

Consistently ensure customer expectations are met

Ensure all documentation is completed and returned accurately at the end of each shift

Adhere to specific time restrictions given under current legislation

Adhere to legislative regulations and company policies

Driving activities will generally consist of inter-site and intra-site deliveries, supplier collections around the Northwest, however nationwide deliveries and collections may be required.

Cross training on warehouse activities may be given to offer flexibility and business continuity to the operation

What will you bring?

Must have a valid 7.5T licence

Full DCPC Qualification

Strong communication skills, particularly verbal, to develop good working relationships with colleagues and customers

A responsible and reliable attitude

Experience of multi drop collection and deliveries together with experience of working in a warehouse environment will be an advantage, although full training will be provided

The ability to safely lift or move heavy items

A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude as start and finish times may vary in line with WTD and EU Drivers Hours Regulations

A reasonable amount of overtime will be expected
