Job description

We are looking for a 7.5T driver to join our team at Wincanton in Preston, where we provide logistics services for our exciting aerospace customer.As a 7.5T driver you will be responsible for the collection and delivery of small to large high-value consignments that require special handling conditions.

Successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain security clearance which includes providing 5 consecutive years UK residency and employme nt/education history.

Day to Day

• Collection and delivery of small to large high-value consignments that require special handling conditions
• Consistently ensure customer expectations are met
• Ensure all documentation is completed and returned accurately at the end of each shift
• Adhere to specific time restrictions given under current legislation
• Adhere to legislative regulations and company policies
• Driving activities will generally consist of inter-site and intra-site deliveries, supplier collections around the Northwest, however nationwide deliveries and collections may be required.
• Cross training on warehouse activities may be given to offer flexibility and business continuity to the operation

What will you bring?

• Must have a valid 7.5T licence
• Strong communication skills, particularly verbal, to develop good working relationships with colleagues and customers
• A responsible and reliable attitude
• Experience of multi drop collection and deliveries together with experience of working in a warehouse environment will be an advantage, although full training will be provided
• The ability to safely lift or move heavy items
• A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude as start and finish times may vary in line with WTD and EU Drivers Hours Regulations
• A reasonable amount of overtime will be expected
• Good geographical knowledge
