Job summary

DriverHire Oxford is seeking a reliable 7.5t driver for bulky waste collection in Oxford. This hands-on role involves driving to collection points and loading bulky items throughout the shift.

You will work as part of a small crew, lifting and maneuvering furniture and white goods in all weather, with a good level of physical fitness essential.

Benefits include fixed Monday–Friday hours with a 14:00 finish, early starts, and an active, varied role delivering a practical waste collection service.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C1 (7.5t) driving licence.
• Digital tachograph card and current CPC.
• Physically fit with regular manual handling.
• Early start at 06:00 and ability to load bulky items.
• Willingness to work in a small crew on waste collection.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle on collection rounds across Oxford and surrounding areas.
• Collect bulky waste items from residential and commercial sites.
• Manual loading/unloading of items throughout the day.
• Work closely with a loading crew to keep to schedule.
• Carry out basic vehicle checks and safe loading practices.

7.5 TONNE DRIVER - BULKY WASTE COLLECTION

The Role

We're looking for a reliable, physically fit 7.5t driver to join a bulky waste collection operation in Oxford. This is a hands-on role - you'll be driving to collection points across the area and loading bulky items (furniture, appliances, household waste) throughout the shift.

This is not a sit-and-drive job. You'll be expected to work as part of a small crew, lifting and manoeuvring heavy and awkward items in all weather conditions, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.

What You'll Be Doing

• Driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle on collection rounds across Oxford and surrounding areas
• Collecting bulky waste items (furniture, white goods, mattresses, etc.) from residential/commercial sites
• Manual loading and unloading of items throughout the day
• Working closely with a loading crew to keep to schedule
• Carrying out basic vehicle checks and ensuring safe loading practices

What We're Looking For

• Valid Category C1 (7.5t) driving licence
• Digital tachograph card and current CPC
• Physically fit and comfortable with regular manual handling/lifting
• Good understanding that this role combines driving and loading - not driving alone
• Punctual and reliable, comfortable with an early start (06:00)
• Previous waste, logistics, or bulky item collection experience is a plus but not essential
