Job summary

Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting experienced 7.5T drivers for a full-time role in the Southampton area. You will deliver fixtures and fittings across the South Coast, with loading/unloading and delivery notes, working Mon-Fri from 07:00, 8–10 hour shifts.

The position starts as 12-week temp-to-perm, with options for permanency based on performance. Candidates should have a full UK 7.5T licence, CPC and Digi Tacho, and prior delivery driving experience.

Qualifications

• A full and clean UK 7.5T driving licence (minimum)
• Valid CPC and Digi Tacho card
• Previous delivery driving experience preferred
• Good knowledge of the South Coast region
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Experience using ratchet straps and tail lifts is desirable
• Reliable, punctual and professional in approach
• Able to represent the client to the highest standards

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading the vehicle
• Delivering fixtures and fittings to customers across the South Coast
• Completing delivery notes accurately
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time

Job description

Are you an experienced 7.5T driver looking for a full-time driving opportunity with the potential to become permanent?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients based in the Southampton area. This is a great opportunity for a reliable and experienced driver to join a friendly team, delivering fixtures and fittings across the South Coast.

What you need to know about this 7.5T driving role:

• Monday to Friday (07:00am start)
• 8-10-hour shifts
• 12-week temp-to-perm position
• Approximately 10-15 deliveries per day
• Driving both 7.5T and 3.5T vehicles, depending on delivery requirements
• Loading and unloading the vehicle
• Delivering fixtures and fittings to customers
• Completing delivery notes
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time

What we require from you:

• A full and clean UK 7.5T driving licence
• Valid CPC and Digi Tacho card
• Previous delivery driving experience
• Good geographical knowledge of the South Coast and surrounding areas
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Previous experience using ratchet straps and tail lifts
• Reliable and punctual with fantastic timekeeping
• A professional attitude and positive approach to work
• Ability to represent the client professionally and follow all company policies and procedures
