Job summary

poltronesofà is recruiting for a 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver at our Basildon Distribution Centre. You will deliver and install furniture at customers’ homes, working with a crew to meet delivery schedules and ensure a safe, high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Category C1 licence is required.
• Driver CPC qualification (Certificate of Professional Competence) is required.
• Driver digital tachograph card is required.
• Knowledge of tacograph regulations and vehicle safety is expected.
• Must be physically fit for heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
• Warehouse experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and install furniture in customers' homes.
• Work with a crew mate to follow delivery schedules.
• Assist with loading/unloading at the distribution centre.
• Provide excellent customer service and gather feedback from customers.
• Ensure safety through checks and safe driving practices.
• Work 44 hours over 4 days with Sundays off; flexibility during peak periods.

What’s the opportunity?

All you need in order to apply is a Category C1 vehicle licence, a driver digital tachograph card and the relevant drivers CPC qualification (certificate of professional competence). We’ll sort the rest! Previous furniture delivery experience can be a benefit, but we find personality and the ability to learn new skills more important.

What does the role involve?

• Delivering and installing furniture in customers’ homes
• Working through a delivery schedule with the support of your crew mate
• Work as part of a wider distribution centre team in helping to load and unload furniture onto our vehicles
• Providing a brilliant service to our customers and encouraging their feedback
• Making sure the team is safe by carrying out checks and driving safely
• Work 44 hours over 4 days with every Sunday off. Flexibility would be required in peak periods
• Heavy lifting

Who are we looking for?

• Previous experience within a driving role
• Category C1 vehicle licence
• Driver digital tachograph card
• Relevant drivers CPC qualification (certificate of professional competence)
• Knowledge and understanding of safety requirements of operating a vehicle and is familiar with the use and regulation of tacographs
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow process and procedures
• Strives to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction
• Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling as this role involves heavy lifting

• Experience in a warehouse environment (desirable)
