The successful post holder will be based in Kent (HMP Maidstone, HMP Rochester or HMP Standford Hill), Surrey (HMP Coldingley), or Sussex (HMP Ford), providing delivery, management, and supervisory services across 8 sites within the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex prison group. The role involves working with diverse prison cohorts, including risk assessment, intervention, consultancy, and research, mainly with offenders in custody but also in community settings.
Working Arrangements & Further Information
The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where feasible. This flexible working blends working from your base location, other MoJ sites, and/or from home. The role must be based in the UK. Specific arrangements will be discussed with the successful candidate and reviewed regularly.
Appointees will be based at a MoJ office location, which may include Justice Collaboration Centres or Satellite Offices, as agreed during onboarding.
Terms and conditions are subject to change following Civil Service reform. New staff will transfer onto updated MoJ terms accordingly.
Standard hours are 37 per week, excluding unpaid breaks. MoJ welcomes part-time, flexible, and job-sharing patterns, considered per the Flexible Working policy.
Current NPS employees may apply for a loan/secondment for up to 2 years, subject to approval.
Annual leave includes 9 days (66 hours 36 minutes) for bank, public, and privilege holidays, added to leave entitlement. Some holidays may require working depending on operational needs.

This role is open to UK nationals, Irish nationals, Commonwealth citizens with right to work, EU/EEA/Swiss nationals with settled status, and others as specified. A reserve list may be maintained for up to 12 months.
The candidate must be a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC and eligible to use the protected title. Evidence of experience via CV or Work History and Statement of Suitability is required.
