A leading sports and leisure trust in Scotland is seeking a dedicated part-time Swimming Teacher to deliver engaging lessons across various skill levels. The ideal candidate will possess the Minimum Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics and show enthusiasm in mentoring new instructors. The role offers flexible hours with competitive hourly pay, based on qualifications and experience.

To lead and deliver learn to swim sessions to the standard outlined by Scottish Swimming (SASA) and the National Framework for Swimming. Adapt lessons as needed for different groups and individual needs. Before appointment, you will need to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant PVG scheme.
Minimum Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics with a commitment to qualify to UKCC Level 2 Teacher of Aquatics / ASA or equivalent within an agreed timescale.
* Applications from candidates with the new SSTQ (Scottish Swimming Teacher Qualification), First Aid, and Child Protection Training are accepted.
* Salary placement depends on qualifications and experience.
Deliver engaging swimming lessons to children and adults of all abilities, following the Scottish Swimming (SASA) Learn to Swim programme.
Use assessment methods to monitor progress in line with the LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) Swimmer Pathway.
Promote the Fife Sports and Leisure Trust (FSLT) Learn to Swim programme and inform participants of other products and services.
Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and additional training as per FSLT guidelines.
Follow FSLT policies, guidelines, and health and safety procedures, especially when working with vulnerable groups.
Experience delivering swimming lessons to children and adults, following the Scottish Swimming Learn to Swim Programme or equivalent.
Ability to work with swimmers of all levels, from beginners to stroke development.
Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and team members.
Group swimmers by ability and assess progress.
Understand health and safety when delivering lessons.
Mentor UKCC Level 1 Teachers or Assistant Swimming Teachers.
Show enthusiasm, confidence, and motivation.
Excellent communication skills.
Be outgoing, confident, and adaptable.
Listen well and react positively.
Punctual and team-oriented.
