Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a 4D Digital Engineer to join our Essex-based team on the Lower Thames Crossing project. You will develop 4D simulations, integrate 3D models with programme data and lead digital rehearsal sessions to drive proactive project planning.

The role requires strong Synchro/4D software skills, Navisworks knowledge, and experience with planning tools like P6. You’ll collaborate with engineers, planners and construction teams to optimise sequencing and logistics.

Qualifications

Strong Synchro/4D software skills with Navisworks knowledge.
Understanding of P6 and programme logic.
Good knowledge of 3D modelling workflows (Revit, Civil 3D, Bentley).
Familiarity with ISO 19650 processes.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed 4D simulations integrating 3D models with programme data.
Maintain accurate linkages between model components and the programme.
Lead digital rehearsal sessions and capture actions.
Identify sequencing clashes, access constraints and logistics issues.
Support temporary works, lifting operations and construction methodology planning.
Produce visual outputs including animations, dashboards and reports.
Ensure compliance with project standards, metadata requirements and CDE protocols.
Work with planners to validate programme logic using 4D insights.
Maintain templates, libraries and 4D workflow documentation.
Mentor junior team members.
