Exciting Opportunity: Highly Specialist CardiacPhysiologist (Cardiac Devices)

We are currently seeking an experienced anddedicated Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist to join our dynamic andprogressive Cardio-Respiratory team at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

As a key member of the Cardiac Devices Team,youll contribute to a wide range of services, including:Bradycardiadevice implantation and follow-upComplexdevice follow-upPhysiologist-ledILR implant service

Youll also be part of a department that offerscomprehensive cardiology services, including:

Cardiacultrasound (TTE, contrast, stress echo, and TOE)

Angiography

ECG andambulatory/exercise testing

Spirometry,full lung function testing, and CPET

Main duties of the job

Providing independent specialist support to theCardiac Device Service in the implantation and follow-up of the full range ofimplantable cardiac devices (pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, cardiacresynchronization therapy devices and implantable loop recorders.

Maintaining a high standard of cardiac devicecompetency and patient care at all times.

Maintaining post graduate level accreditationin cardiac rhythm management, such as British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS)accreditation.

Explaining procedures and possible outcomeswith patients prior to implantation and follow-up, with a degree of counsellingregarding CIED benefits and constraints.

Developing any specialised areas of interest incardiac devices.

Participating inclinical audit and research.

To provide multi disciplinary training acrossprofessional boundaries to a range of staff including physiologists, nurses,medical staff, and others.

Providing mentoring/WBA for staff and students.

Qualifications
  • High level of clinical competence in a wide range of clinical physiological measurement procedures.
