Job summary

Randstad RIS is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter for Caterpillar in Larne to join a world-class manufacturing team. The role features a 4-day work week (Mon-Thu) with a long-term ongoing contract and thorough induction to master the Caterpillar way.

You will build, fit, and align gensets, read engineering prints, and use precision hand and power tools in a modern facility with on-site parking. The post emphasizes safety, quality, and opportunities to grow through lean manufacturing training.

Qualifications

• Formal Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical field.
• Proven assembly or fitting experience, ideally in lean manufacturing.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Willingness to work at heights or in confined spaces when required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fit, and adjust gensets, fuel systems, and radiators.
• Read and follow engineering prints and sketches to plan build sequence.
• Use hand and power tools to meet quality standards.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S in the facility.
