3rd Line WAN Network Support Engineer

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months (extensions expected)

IR35: Inside

Rate: £400-450/day (negotiable)

Location: Solihull

Clearance Required: SC or Eligible for SC (Sole UK Nationals only)

Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, customer-focused 3rd Line WAN Network Support & Project Engineer. The successful candidate will configure Juniper SRX & MX series routers to a 3rd line level, with expertise in BGP/IPSEC & PKI Prime, MPLS, and a commitment to a "right first time" approach. This role involves supporting both project delivery and BAU operations to enable secure global network services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure SRX series routers to meet project deadlines and support ongoing operations.
• Manage and support the Customer Network WAN estate.
• Handle technical network support escalations and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with the network design team and share knowledge within the 3rd line team.
• Lead technical configurations, troubleshooting, and tuning of Juniper network devices.

Mandatory Skills:

• Deep knowledge of Juniper SRX platform, Junos OS, and experience with SRX and MX platforms.
• Strong routing and switching expertise.
• Extensive experience with BGP configuration, including policy-based routing, attribute manipulation, and load balancing.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting IPSEC VPNs and MPLS.
