Job Title: 3rd Line Support Engineer (MSP)

- Location: Hybrid / Lowestoft

- Full-Time, Permanent Position

- Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP45,000 Depending on Experience

Our IT support team are a dynamic and growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) supporting a wide range of clients across multiple industries, including private & public sector. Their focus is delivering reliable, secure, and scalable IT solutions, with a strong emphasis on proactive support and long-term client relationships.

Our IT support team are looking for an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer who thrives on solving challenging problems and enjoys working directly with end users as well as managing back-end systems. If you're confident across Windows environments, cloud platforms, and networking, this role offers variety, responsibility, and room to grow.

The Role:
As a 3rd Line Support Engineer, you ll be a key escalation point for their support team and a trusted technical advisor for their clients. You ll provide hands-on support and troubleshooting while also engaging directly with end users, both remotely and on-site, to resolve complex issues and deliver projects.

You ll need solid experience in Windows Server environments (including Hyper-V), networking, Office 365, and Microsoft Azure. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll often be the face of their technical team when speaking with clients and users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technical support for escalated incidents and service requests
  • Troubleshoot and support environments including:
    • Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy
    • Hyper-V virtualization
    • Office/Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams)
    • Azure services (AD, VMs, storage, networking)
    • Network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
  • Deliver support both remotely and on-site as needed
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with end users, ensuring a positive support experience
  • Assist with infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades
  • Document systems, procedures, and solutions for internal use
  • Mentor junior team members and assist with knowledge sharing
  • Liaise with vendors and third-party providers for escalated support and solutions

About You:

  • 3+ years in an MSP or similar IT support environment
  • NHS Experience is desirable but not essential
  • Strong knowledge and experience with:
    • Windows Server & Hyper-V
    • Networking fundamentals (firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs)
    • Microsoft 365 (administration & support)
    • Microsoft Azure (IaaS, networking, identity)
  • Confident communicator who can explain technical issues clearly to end users
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) are a plus but not essential
  • Passionate about technology and continuous improvement
