PLEASE NOTE

This role is a step towards enabling 24x7 3rd line support for our customers. Initially, you will work early and late shifts on rotation. These will be 7am – 3:30pm and 2:30pm – 10pm Wednesday to Sunday. There is potential for a transition to a 4-day shift pattern at the end of the contract, rotating between dayshifts and nightshifts, with each shift lasting 12 hours.

As a 3rd Line Network and Security Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues for our customers, both managed and support.
  2. Designing and implementing configuration changes requested by managed customers.
  3. Managing ticket updates with all customers, third parties, and vendors through to resolution.
  4. Providing training and knowledge sharing via documentation and team whiteboard sessions.
  5. Authoring customer network health checks, including configuration best practices, capacity management, and lifecycle recommendations.

We'd love you to have:

  1. Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  2. Motivation to learn and share your knowledge.
  3. Cisco certification – CCNA with experience as a minimum, CCNP preferred.
  4. Strong technical skills with other key vendors – Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, Aruba, F5 – all advantageous.
  5. The ability to manage yourself effectively under pressure.
  6. Good time management and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment to meet SLAs.
