Job summary

North Star Shipping is seeking a 3rd Engineer to join the ERRV/MRV fleet on a permanent basis with a 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotation. Start date 4 September 2026.

Candidates should hold a 3rd Engineer CoC and preferably have worked on an ERRV or similar vessel. The role covers ship machinery, safety, maintenance, and reporting to the Chief Engineer. You will also assist in fuelling, check stores, participate in PM tasks and promote our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.

Qualifications

• 3rd Engineer CoC required
• Experience on ERRV/MRV or similar offshore vessel preferred
• Offshore operating knowledge and safety awareness essential

Responsibilities

• The operational status of the ship, its machinery, propulsion systems and technical equipment permanently installed on board
• The safety of personnel within sphere of influence
• The maintenance of the vessel, machinery installed on board in a sound condition ready for operations
• Reporting any defects to the plant and machinery installed on board to the Chief Engineer
• Recognising stores requirements, spares and equipment for the Engine Department
• The execution of actions to fulfil the approved company Planned Maintenance System on board
• Monitoring safe working practices of shore contractors during periods of maintenance
• Examining and accepting stores and spares delivered to the vessel
• Assisting in the fuelling procedure to ensure all precautions are being adhered to
• Actively promoting and progressing the company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
• Actively promoting inter-departmental communications
