Job summary

Aldi is seeking a Supply Chain professional to coordinate and manage Aldi-owned freight and 3PL relationships. You will drive on-time, in-full deliveries, onboard new carriers and lead negotiations to optimise cost and performance across the network.

You will manage multiple projects with internal teams and suppliers, ensuring process improvements, and alignment with the department strategy. The role includes flexible hybrid working and a strong focus on operational excellence.

Are you looking for a role that will challenge you whilst also giving you the chance to grow and develop with a leading retailer? In our Directs role in the National Supply Chain Management department, you will be responsible for the coordination and daily management of our network of approved 3PL`s, managing Aldi owned freight.

This role proactively ensures that our network delivers on time and in full, driving growth and on boarding new carrier relationships.

Your New Role:

• Ownership of building, managing and controlling key 3PL relationships in line with KPIs, contractual obligations and day to day operations.
• Leading 3PL negotiations to ensure competitive costs are maintained for the Aldi business.
• Investigating and collating new contracts and frameworks for new 3PL providers in line with business needs.
• Management and control of multiple Supply Chain projects and tasks, working with Buying, RDC’s and suppliers to deliver to agreed timeframes.
• Internal and external stakeholder engagement and management of all levels of business.
• Championing 3PL process developments and continual improvements, ensuring availability of product into the RDC’s from suppliers.
• Problem solving to find operational solutions to enable delivery to achieve agreed service levels.
• Continuous improvement within role, simplifying processes and operations to maximise efficiencies.
• Delivering successful Christmas and key events.
• Supporting the delivery of the department strategy as required.
• Working with other business functions within Aldi to ensure that your 3PL can deliver Aldi’s requirements effectively.

About You:

Essential:

• Retail/Supply Chain/Logistics experience
• Internal and External stakeholder relationship building / management
• Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Confidence and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues of all levels is key.
• Need strong written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels of the business.
• Ability to manage a varied workload, conflicting deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Organisational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities.
• Innate curiosity; always striving to improve and simplify processes and ensure consistency wherever possible.
• Detail oriented.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; specifically Excel and Word.

Desirable:

• Previously worked within Supply Chain retailers or 3PL
• Experience managing, improving and delivering changes in 3PL
• Demonstrates ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to deliver one goal
• Demonstrate ability to design and implement solutions effectively
• Strong operational and commercial acumen
• Knowledge of Supply Chain systems (TMS/WMS/Portals etc.)
• SAP experience
• Previous background managing cost negotiations and contract management

What You’ll get in Return

• Salary starting from £37,545 rising to £43,840
• 23 month FTC
• Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working (occasional weekend working may be required)
