Job description

A new position is available for a technically minded Sales Support and Solar Design Consultant, based in the office just north of Cheltenham. This role supports commercial clients interested in solar-integrated battery solutions, particularly focused on three-phase systems. The position is not direct sales, but rather a technical and consultative role working closely with inbound enquiries to understand project needs, specify the correct solution, and coordinate next steps.

The ideal candidate will have a good telephone manner, strong IT skills, and the ability to interpret solar requirements into practical system proposals. A background in solar, energy systems, or technical customer service is highly beneficial, though transferable skills will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle inbound enquiries relating to solar and three-phase battery systems.
• Gather project details and design suitable energy storage solutions.
• Produce technical specifications based on customer requirements.
• Advise clients on system capability, compatibility, and supply options.
• Maintain accurate records of enquiries, proposals, and follow-ups.
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery and client satisfaction.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• Strong communication and customer-facing skills by phone and email.
• Good understanding of solar or battery technology, or willingness to learn.
• Competent with spreadsheets, technical documentation, and quoting tools.
• Experience working in a technical support, admin, or design-based role.
• Ability to solve problems and guide clients to the best available solution.
• Previous solar and battery system design experience would be hugely beneficial but not essential.
• Training and support can be provided to those with relevant transferable skills and a proactive mindset.
