Job summary

Cognitive Group, part of Focus Cloud Group, seeks a contract 3D Data / Computer Vision Engineer to build data transformation tooling for large-scale annotation and labelling workflows. You will work hands-on with Python, 3D vision, sensor geometry and multimodal data across images, video, LiDAR and calibration data.

Responsibilities include transforming data between internal and external formats, projecting 3D data into image space, and developing tooling to automate complex data-transformation

Qualifications

• Strong Python engineering experience.
• Commercial experience in 3D computer vision, robotics, or autonomous vehicles.
• Understanding of camera calibration, coordinate transformations, projection geometry and rotations.
• Experience with LiDAR, camera, image or video sensor data.
• Ability to map 3D sensor data to image space.
• Experience transforming datasets between formats.
• Experience processing large-scale datasets in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of parallel/batch data-processing techniques.
• Experience with geometric data such as polygons, lines, curves.
• Comfortable with unfamiliar data formats and data-transformation problems.

Responsibilities

• Build Python scripts and tooling to prepare multimodal datasets for external annotation providers.
• Transform internal data into provider-specific formats and convert annotations back into internal systems.
• Work with images, video, LiDAR, calibration data and 3D sensor datasets.
• Project LiDAR and other 3D data into camera/image space using calibration and sensor geometry.
• Handle coordinate frames, transformations, projection geometry and rotation matrices.
• Work with polygons, lines, curves and other geometric structures.
• Build visualisation tooling to support annotation workflows and quality checking.
• Transcode image and video data into required external formats.
• Process large datasets in cloud environments using parallel and batch-processing techniques.
• Develop reliable tooling to automate annotation and data-transformation workflows.
• Support integrations across multiple annotation providers with different formats and requirements.
