Job summary

mustard is seeking a talented Midweight 3D Creative Designer to join its experiential team. You will work across live events, brand experiences, exhibitions and activations, translating ideas into engaging spatial environments and presentation-ready renders.

Collaborate with senior teams to develop concepts, use AI-assisted exploration, create 3D models, layouts and drawings, and help push creative boundaries while balancing production realities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a 3D Designer in experiential/live events or exhibitions.
• Strong portfolio showing spatial and experiential work in live environments.
• Excellent eye for detail, materiality and audience experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative responses to client briefs through moodboards, sketches and 3D modelling.
• Create engaging event environments considering layouts, visitor flow and journeys.
• Produce high-quality 3D models, visualisations, renders and presentation assets.
• Translate ideas into designs integrating brand identity, furniture, lighting and materials.
• Produce plans and general arrangement drawings as required.

The Opportunity

An established and growing experiential agency is looking for a talented Midweight 3D Creative Designer to join its creative team.

Working across a varied portfolio of live events, brand experiences, exhibitions and activations, you'll help transform creative ideas into engaging, well-considered spatial environments. From initial concept development and moodboards through to detailed 3D visualisation and presentation-ready renders, you'll play an important role in shaping experiences that connect with audiences and deliver against client objectives.

Working alongside senior creative, design and production teams, this is an opportunity to develop your conceptual and technical skills within a collaborative, ambitious environment.

The Role

• Develop creative responses to client briefs, exploring spatial concepts through moodboards, sketches, AI-assisted exploration and 3D modelling.
• Create engaging event environments, considering layouts, visitor flow, audience journeys and experiential touchpoints.
• Produce high-quality 3D models, visualisations, renders and presentation assets.
• Translate creative ideas into considered designs, integrating brand identity, furniture, lighting, styling and materials.
• Produce plans, layouts and general arrangement drawings where required.
• Collaborate with creative, 2D design, production and project management teams to develop and deliver concepts.
• Support client pitches and presentations, confidently communicating design ideas and rationale.
• Consider practical production requirements, build methods, budgets and sustainability throughout the design process.
• Explore emerging technologies, AI tools and interactive or immersive approaches to enhance creative outcomes.

About You

• Proven experience as a 3D Designer within an experiential, live events or exhibition design environment.
• A strong portfolio showcasing spatial and experiential work, such as event environments, plenary spaces, staging, exhibitions, hospitality, brand activations, roadshows or immersive installations.
• Excellent spatial design and visual storytelling skills, with a strong eye for detail, materiality and audience experience.
• Confident using 3D design software such as Rhino (preferred), 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, SketchUp or Blender.
• Experience with rendering tools such as Unreal, Twinmotion, V-Ray, Corona or KeyShot.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, and CAD software (ideally AutoCAD).
• An understanding of production processes, construction materials, event logistics and working within budget parameters.
• Comfortable collaborating with creative directors, designers, technologists and production teams.
• Organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple projects and respond positively to feedback and tight deadlines.
