Job summary

Solutions Engineering Recruitment is seeking a 3D Creative Designer in Arborfield with a hybrid working pattern. You will develop 3D concepts for scenic, exhibition and activation projects, and produce technical CAD drawings to support build and onsite delivery.

You will collaborate with the Creative team and Project Managers to ensure designs are buildable, on-budget and production-ready, while delivering client-facing visuals and assets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a 3D Designer in events, exhibitions or production.
• CAD proficiency in SketchUp and/or Vectorworks.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Strong rendering skills with client-ready visuals.
• Ability to translate creative concepts into buildable designs.
• Confident presenting design ideas to clients and internal teams.
• Strong attention to detail and design accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D concept designs and visualisations for client pitches and proposals across scenic, exhibition and activation projects.
• Produce accurate technical CAD drawings to support build, fabrication and onsite delivery.
• Translate creative briefs into buildable designs, working closely with the Creative team and Project Managers.
• Prepare renders, mood boards and visual assets for client presentations and sales collateral.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure designs are deliverable within budget and technical constraints.
• Prepare large and small format print files for design elements as required.
• Maintain a library of design assets, templates and stock scenic references.
• Stay current with design trends, materials and techniques relevant to live events and exhibitions.

3D Creative Designer

Location: Arborfield | Hybrid
Reports To: Projects Director
Level: Mid-Level
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum DOE

Overview

We're looking for a 3D Creative Designer to bring creative concepts to life digitally, producing accurate and compelling 3D visualisations, renders, and technical drawings to support both client-facing pitches and onsite delivery.

You'll work closely with the Creative team to develop concepts from initial brief through to final visual, and with Project Managers to ensure every design is technically buildable, on-budget, and ready for production.

The role is varied, covering conferences, awards shows, premiere-style builds, B2C brand activations, pop-ups, exhibitions and more, with a mixture of stock scenic items, system build and bespoke fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D concept designs and visualisations for client pitches and proposals across scenic, exhibition and activation projects

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a 3D Designer, or in a similar role, within an events, exhibition or production environment
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SketchUp and/or Vectorworks
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Strong rendering skills with experience producing client-ready visualisations
• Ability to translate creative concepts into technically accurate, buildable designs
• Confident presenting and communicating design ideas to clients and internal teams
• Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to design accuracy

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of system build products such as beMatrix or Aluvision
• Understanding of technical production elements and their application
• Experience with rendering software such as Enscape, Lumion or V-Ray
• Experience preparing large and small format print files for production
• Graphic design skills
• Experience working across large-scale exhibitions or brand activations

Working Pattern

This is a hybrid role, primarily based at the Arborfield office, with the flexibility to work from home when preferred. There is no fixed home-working pattern, allowing flexibility depending on the requirements of the role and projects.

You'll also be expected to attend client presentations and site visits as required, so the role will vary between office, home, client-facing and onsite work rather than being purely desk-based.

Where overtime is required, this will be returned as time off in lieu (TOIL).
