An exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Lead Nurse at the Acorn Unit within the Integrated Care System to support patients on the intermediate care pathway. You will be integral to patient care, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, and leading nursing practices. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills and a commitment to quality care and professional development.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7Lead Nurse to the Acorn Unit which is a nursing and therapy unit to support forpatients on the intermediate care pathway.
The Acorn Unit provides care for both medically fitdischarged patients from the acute setting and those from the communityrequiring extra support with rehabilitation, therapy and assessment needs.
You will be workingclosely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team includingPhysiotherapists, Occupational Therapist, Discharge Co-ordinators, Adult SocialCare and others to ensure patients on this pathway are cared for safely andeffectively and are discharged to the most appropriate destination.
This post requiresmotivation, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and demonstration ofevidence based clinical practice. The candidate should also be a qualifiedmentor with recognised mentor qualifications and a proven history of providingsupervision to junior staff, be motivated and enthusiastic about your ownprofessional development and open to undertaking further academicqualifications where applicable. You must be flexible, approachable,compassionate, motivated, hardworking and be able to use your own initiativewhilst also having the ability to work under pressure.
You must possess excellentleadership, organisational and communication skills and demonstrate a keeninterest in patients on the intermediate care pathway. You must be able todemonstrate the ability to initiate and sustain new and innovative ways ofworking which facilitate developments in nursing practice as well as beingself-motivated and committed to improving service delivery with a flexibleapproach to the needs of the service. We expect you to be dedicated with apositive attitude and ability to provide patients an excellent service.This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week, predominantly Monday toFriday.
