A public sector agency in the UK is seeking 4 Project Support Officers to support their Waste Regulatory Reforms Programme. We need 4 Project support officers to help deliver our Waste Regulatory Reforms Programme.
The positions are assignments/fixed term contracts until the end of March 2026.
Defra’s Resources and Waste Strategy identified a number of reforms to waste regulation to help us drive towards a circular economy. Implementing this portfolio of legislative reforms is a ‘once in a generation’ opportunity to make a seismic shift in the way waste and. resources is managed in this country.
The role of the Project Support Officer covers a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of project priorities. You will enable the smooth running of projects by helping them through the operation of project management processes, and the coordination of business management actions and activities.
General responsibilities range from implementing and maintaining project controls such as on scheduling and risk management to ensure effective delivery. You will also contribute to the development of business cases, produce project status reports and build and maintain excellent professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will manage the administration of Project Team and Project Board meetings in line with project governance.

The team
You’ll join our Programme Management Office (PMO) which sits within Waste & Resources Regulation in the Environment and Business directorate. The PMO is an evolving, nationally dispersed team that supports the projects to deliver regulatory reform.
