A busy medical practice in Church Stretton is looking for a Part Time Receptionist to join their friendly team. The role involves managing front desk operations, answering calls, and assisting patients. Ideal candidates should possess excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to their work. Training will be provided for the right applicant.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and resilientperson to join our friendly Reception team working on the phones and front deskin a variety of tasks essential to the running of a busy Medical Practice.
Applicants will need a pleasant, approachable manner,be a team player, have computer skills, good communication skills and theability to remain calm whilst busy.Whilst previous experience of working in a Primary Care, healthcare orcustomer service environment would be an advantage, it is not essential. Appropriate training will be provided for theright applicant.
Hours to be worked are negotiable, but the successfulapplicant will be required to work 30 hours across the week. Interviews will be held on 10 July 2025.
Church Stretton Medical Practice is situated near Cardingmill Valley and the Stretton Hills. With approximately 7,200 patients registered it is a busy but friendly place to work.
We are a 6 GP partner, 1 salaried GP practice with a strong nursing and HCA team ably supported by the non-clinical team. We are a friendly and professional team.

JOB PURPOSE:
Greet patients and visitors in an efficientand courteous manner
Provide an effective and polite telephoneenquiry service
Proactively communicate information betweenrelevant patients, doctors and other healthcare professionals
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.
Greetpatients and visitors to the practice.
2.
Bookin patients and visitors in line with practice appointment and visitorsprocedures.
3.
Respondto and/or direct all patient and visitor requests accordingly.
4.
Answerincoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirectedaccordingly.
5.
Ensurethe computerised appointment system is up-to-date.
6.
Book,amend and cancel patient appointments.
7.
Ensurereception and clinical areas are ready for each session.
8.
Registernew patients on the computer system.
9.
Ensureup-to-date maintenance of patient information, both computerised and manual.
10.
Distributecompleted prescriptions.
11.
Chaperonepatients where necessary.
12.
Bethe Practice first point of contact for anything EMIS related.
13.
Checkthat answering machine service has correctly switched to night service atclose of practice each day.
14.
Maintainpatient confidentiality at all times and comply with all aspects of DataProtection Act.
15.
Maintainsecurity of building at all times (unlock building in the morning and checkand lock all windows and lock all internal and external doors at night,setting alarm if last out).
16.
Followpractice procedures in the event of a fire.
17.
Undertakestatutory and mandatory training.
18.
Attendand participate in meetings as required.
19.
