Consultant in Emergency Medicine - Essex - Perm or Locum FTC

Triple West Medical are seeking an experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine for a substantive role or a FTC Locum Consultant for 12 months minimum.

The Trust has over 10,000 staff offering comprehensive acute and community services to over 1 million people. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills and the ability to lead on the shop floor, and be active in teaching and supervision of multi-disciplinary staff.

The NHS Trust aims to build its reputation and advance clinical care standards. The Emergency Department sees over 60,000 attendances per year, and the consultant will join a 15-consultant on-call rota with a flexible approach to job planning.

Requirements include:

  • Completed Higher Specialist Training in Emergency Medicine or equivalent competency
  • Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Provider status at ALS, ATLS, and either PALS or APLS
  • High level of clinical experience and competence in Emergency Medicine, with FRCEM

Clinical duties will include:

  • Immediate review of emergency patients, including pediatric patients
  • Stabilization and management of patients attending the A&E department
  • Regular board rounds to ensure clinical excellence and efficient patient flow
  • Development of emergency services, including liaison with other departments
  • Close work with GP colleagues for admissions avoidance and ambulatory care
  • Participation in the A&E Consultant on-call rota
  • Cover for colleagues during planned and unplanned leave
  • Support for ambulatory services
  • Responsibility for the governance of A&E pediatric services
