Job summary

Rubicon Consulting is recruiting two Quantity Surveyors for a 6-month rolling contract based in Buckinghamshire. You’ll work on a major National Grid substation extension, handling compensation events, Defined Cost, cost forecasting and monthly reporting, plus valuations and payments across civils and electrical packages.

Ideal candidates have solid NEC3/4 on Option C, strong cost reporting, and proven subcontract valuations experience on substations from 132kV to 400kV.

Qualifications

• Solid contractor-side NEC3/NEC4 experience, ideally Option C.
• Strong cost reporting, Defined Cost, compensation events.
• Experience running subcontract valuations and payments; substation experience 132kV to 400kV.
• CEMAR experience and a QS or commercial management degree would help.

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for 2x Quantity Surveyors on a 6 month rolling contract based in Buckinghamshire.

Role Summary

Two contract Quantity Surveyors are needed for a major National Grid substation extension. The project adds new bays and supergrid transformers to an existing 400kV substation and includes a new 132kV GIS building on the same site.

The contract is NEC4 Option C, and you'll be on the contractor side. Your day to day will cover compensation events, Defined Cost, cost forecasting and monthly reporting, plus valuations and payments across the civils and electrical subcontract packages. You'll work closely with the project team on site and help keep the cost records in good shape for client audit.

Requirements

• Solid contractor-side experience on NEC3 or NEC4, ideally Option C.
• A good grasp of the full CE process, early warnings and cost reporting.
• Experience running subcontract valuations and payment notices.
• Substation experience from 132kv to 400kv
• Substation, transmission or power infrastructure experience will put you ahead. Strong Option C experience on other major infrastructure, such as rail, water or large civils, is still worth an application. CEMAR and a QS or commercial management degree would help.
